Text: The Fuhrer foams at the mouth while telephoning an equally crazed Nazi General who is unhappily gazing at a switchboard full of Red Army bayonets. Hitler says; “Hello. Give me Krasnoe Selo". That (and every other Russian location he asks for; Gatchina, Chudovo, Mga etc.) is "off line". Hitler is told that there are "breaks all along the line", the wordplay meaning not just breaks in the telephone connection but along the battle line with the Red Army! The artist underlines the pun with a phalanx of Red bayonets emerging from the switchboard.
